Updates the various indicators measured by the Health Survey-1996. The aim is to collect data on the health status of the Palestinian population in the Palestinian Territory in order to facilitate the assessment and monitoring of maternal and child health. The main objectives of the survey are to collect data on fertility and family planning; to provide data on reproductive trends and use of family planning methods; to provide data on the basic indicators of the health situation in the Palestinian Territory such as breastfeeding, antenatal care, immunization, and other health indicators; and to furnish data needed for monitoring progress toward goals established at the world summit for children and a basis for future action. For update see Demographic and Health Survey 2004.
