- Description
-
Nationwide survey designed to provide communities with a fresh look at how they are changing. 2005 is the first full year. Prior years were small test runs. Replaces the decennial long form. Tells us what the population looks like and how it lives. Includes occupancy status, homeownership data, and housing cost data. IPUMS also contains the data in an easier to use format. IPUMS includes a Multigenerational Longitudinal Panel. The IPUMS Multigenerational Longitudinal Panel project links individuals' records between censuses. The first IPUMS MLP data release consists of a set of crosswalks between pairs of adjacent censuses from 1900 to 1940. IPUMS is working on linkages from the period 1850 to 1900. More recent data may be found directly on the Census website. For summary statistics, use Social Explorer. Note that microdata will not be released for 2020 nor will the normal ACS. Experimental data is being released. See the FAQ.
