The Occupational Requirements Survey (ORS) is an establishment-based survey conducted annually by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The ORS provides job-related information regarding physical demands; environmental conditions; education, training, and experience; and cognitive and mental requirements for jobs in the U.S. economy. Of particular importance to those doing research on arts and culture, the ORS tracks employment information related to civilian workers in arts, design, entertainment, sports, and media occupations (pdf), as well as librarians and media collection specialists (pdf).
