2025 Speak Up Missouri Poll

FM3 and NBS conducted a statewide survey of 1,883 Missouri adults, including 1,670 in the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) service area and 213 in other areas of the state. The research included oversamples reaching 214 Latinos and 127 Asian and Pacific Islanders, and data was weighted back to its true proportion based on Census data.

The research was preceded by qualitative research, including focus groups and online discussion boards, and was informed by these phases.

The main subject areas explored were Missourians’ view of life in the state, views of their individual communities and experiences with belonging, evaluations of factors that make a community healthy, perspectives on community involvement, experiences with the economy and financial well-being, and experiences with healthcare and views on health equity.

Geographic Coverage:  The State of Missouri. Subdivisions include counties, congressional districts, and Missouri Foundation for Health service areas and non-service areas.

Sampling:  To construct our sample, FM3 randomly selected addresses from a list of all residential addresses in Missouri. FM3 then matched the addresses in the sample against public and commercial databases to acquire residents’ email and telephone contact information. After deduping, the probability sample constructed to represent the universe consisted of 418,222 records. FM3 set demographic and geographic quotas based on the research specifications and using Census data.

FM3 planned to reach 1,300 residents of the MFH service area, 200 outside the service area, and to conduct oversamples of at least 100 Latino residents and 100 AAPI residents in the service area. The team reached 1,670 residents in the MFH service area, 213 in the balance of the state, 214 Latino residents and 127 AAPI residents.

Data Source:  Representative addressed based sampling was obtained from Marketing Systems Group (MSG), a market research sample provider firm, and records were matched with those from L2’s voter database and consumer data.

Weights:  Survey weights for this study were produced using the raking method. The A split and B split were weighted separately. The raking procedure incorporated the following variables: Gender by Age, Ethnicity by Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) Service Area, Education by MFH Service Area, County by MFH Service Area, 2024 Recalled Presidential Vote, and MFH Service Area.
